In this course, you will experience training in law enforcement and corrections. Students will be taught to manage offenders in a correctional setting as well as on the street and under Probation & Parole supervision. During the junior year, all students will complete the public safety core courses. Senior students will pursue various certifications in corrections and community corrections / community supervision. Using industry equipment and techniques, students will learn crime scene investigation, case planning, offender transport techniques/management skills, unarmed self-defense, court room testifying & procedures and electronic monitoring. Students will be given real world corrections and supervision experience as well as receiving certifications in CPR, A.S.P. (expandable baton), pepper spray and taser.
